Well organized hostel on the edge of the Gay Village, or a short bike ride to the Old Port. Samesun is actually situated on the converage of four Metro lines, so be careful which one you hop on! There are also two BIXI stations right next to the hostel and the IGA is across the street if you need to pick up groceries. We travelled as a couple and had a private room for 4 nights. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom had the basic necessities (including a hairdryer) and the air conditioning worked fairly well. The breakfast was fairly decent, with fresh bagels and muffins, cereal and milk, as well coffee and a small selection of teas. There is a kitchenette that we used to cook some vegetarian food and it had shared cooking pans and utensil that we could use. While the dining area is small and cozy, we didn't discover - until the last day - that there was a cute little back alley with booths and tables. Staff was friendly and helpful. The other visitors were diverse; people of all ages and backgrounds, which made us feel welcomed and safe. We may come back and stay here again.

The location is perfect. The train station to many sightseeing locations is right around the corner. Bus stop to/from YUL airport was about a 5 minutes walk. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and the BEST I’ve ever seen a hostel offer… I loved the place. So it’s really really sad to me to write that, unfortunately, my stay was not perfect because I woke up in my first morning with bed bug bites on my right hand and arms. That didn’t make any sense to me because the room (and the mattress) looked clean. But then I woke up on my second (and last) morning with more bed bug bites on my face and on my stomach this time, and a couple more on my arms. That was really upsetting.

Great location! Right behind the bus station, easy access to the subway. 5 minutes walking from Quarter Latin which is really nice. 10 minutes walking from The Village. Walkable distance from Old Montreal if you like to enjoy the city on a walk. If on car, there is a safe parking from Enterprise a few meters from the hotel for a very good price. Overall it was more than I expected for the price. I booked a private room with private bathroom and it was tidy and clean when I arrived. Super comfy. Staff was super welcoming. I was there just for one night so I did not have time to check the hotel pub, but it did look good. Many backpackers. Montreal is always amazing and my go-to place for boring weekends.

The room was fine, the bed was super comfortable, the breakfast was amazing!! Not kidding, all days they provided waffles, bread, bagels and muffins (still debating if they were homemade or not because it was delicious). You have two cereals, fruit, orange juice and coffee. They provide strawberry jam, butter and Hazelnut Spread. There was a freezer in my room that I shared with other guests, the one in the kitchen was also available for some meals I prepared. The staff was really friendly, I used the wash and dry service, they had my clothes ready the same day.

I had a good experience at this hostel, largely due to its perfect location. It was just around the corner from the bus station and the metro, making it incredibly convenient for my travels. The staff were very kind and helpful; they allowed me to store my luggage both before check-in and after check-out, for which I was really grateful. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hostel for its excellent accessibility and friendly service to solo travellers.
